Anima Body Art prides itself in being an inclusive studio where anyone can feel comfortable getting pierced, including children to the elderly, whether it is their first or fortieth piercing. We aim to provide everyone the opportunity to express their authentic self and promote acceptance of your inner self, body, and others through body art.
JON O’BRIEN
(He/Him/they)
Born in Alaska, Jon O’Brien started his piercing career in Cambridge, Minnesota under Kaare Patterson at Twisted Images studio. After spending 10 years in the culinary industry he chose to pursue piercing in order to help people express and accept themselves and their body. He has been piercing since 2011 and has been a member of the Association of Professional Piercers since 2020.
ali kveene (She/her/hers)
Previously a pre-med student at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota, Ali Kveene graduated with a major in biology and minor in chemistry before deciding she preferred inserting jewelry into people over catheters. Ali became a licensed Body Piercer in January of 2024. She preforms all services, but sometimes likes to have Jon supervise surface work and genital piercings as she didn’t get to preform many during her apprenticeship. Thank you to all the clients Ali has pierced throughout her apprenticeship, as she quite literally wouldn’t be doing what she loves without your trust.
Jade Johnson (she/her)
Jade designed, created, and maintains our website. She is a multi talented entrepreneur who started getting pierced at Anima in 2016 and never left. She graduated with a degree in Biology and now spends her time advocating for disability justice in the animal care industry and helping people repair their relationship with their dog through her own business, Dog Life With No Spoons
